Material :

-       1 skein Schoppel-Wolle Zauberball, 1535 Stone Washed (420m or 459 y per 100 g) or any lace or sock yarn you love (fingering 4 ply)

-       a  60 cm – 24 “ circular needle 4 mm – US 6

The gauge has no importance for this pattern

Dimensions after blocking

22 cm x 160 cm = 9 " x 63 "

Stitches :

-       2/1 ribs: *K2, P1*

-       Stockinette stitch

-       Garter stitch

Directions :

With the circular needle, loosely cast on 368 st.

Work 6 rows in 2/1 ribs, beginning and ending with k2.

Row 7 (decreasing row) : k1,* k1,k2tog * repeat from * to * along the row, ending with k1. It remains 246 st.

Continue to work on these 246 st.

Row 8 : purl

Rows 9 to 14 : knit = 6 rows in garter st.

Row 15 : knit

Row 16 : purl = 2 rows in st st.

Row 17 to 22 : knit = 6 rows in garter st.

Row 23 : knit

Row 24 (eyelet row) : p2, * yo, p2tog, p1 *, repeat from * to * ending with p1.

Row 25 : knit

Row 26 : purl

Row 27 : knit

Row 28 : purl

Row 29 (eyelet row) : k2, * yo, k2tog, k1 *, repeat from * to * ending with k1.

Row 30 : purl

Rows 31 to 36 : knit = 6 rows in garter st.

Row 38 (eyelet row) : idem row 24 (you are at the middle of the scarf)

Rows 39 to 44 : knit = 6 rows in garter st.

Rows 45 to 52 : idem rows 23 to 30

Rows 53 to 66 : idem rows 9 to 22

Row 67 : knit

Row 68 : purl = 2 rows in st st.

Row 69 (increasing row) : k1m1 in the first st, p1, * m1k1, p1* repeat from * to * ending with k2. You have 368 st in 2/1 ribs.

Rows 70 to 76 : 2/1 ribs.

Bind off loosely all the stitches.

Short sides edging :

Pick up 68 st along the short side of the scarf

(= a little less than 1 st per row).

Work 6 rows in 2/1 ribs, beginning and ending with k2.

Bind off loosely all the stitches.

Work in the same way on the other side of the scarf.

Finishing :

Weave in ends with a tapestry needle.
